Is growth widespread, or concentrated?
Share of pharmacies each month that gained, lost, or held an unchanged number of EPS nominations compared with the previous month. “Unchanged” means exactly zero change.
In November 2026, 61.0% of pharmacies gained EPS nominations, 35.1% lost nominations, and 3.8% were unchanged versus the previous month. The 10 pharmacies with the largest gains accounted for 6.5% of all nominations gained nationally, suggesting growth is fairly widely spread across pharmacies.
Which pharmacies are gaining and losing the most?
The pharmacies with the largest change in EPS nominations between the latest two reporting periods. Pharmacies only appear here if they have data for both periods being compared — a newly-opened pharmacy's first reading is never counted as a “gain”.
Percentage rankings only include pharmacies with at least 300 nominations in the earlier period, so a tiny pharmacy moving from a handful of nominations to a few dozen can't dominate the table with a huge but meaningless percentage swing.

EPS Nominations by ICB
Aggregates of the pharmacies associated with each Integrated Care Board, comparing November 2026 with October 2026. Covers 99.9% of comparable pharmacies; the remainder don’t have a current ICB recorded in PharmData and are included in national figures but not here.
Across England's ICBs, EPS nominations changed by between +0.3% and -0.1% during November 2026. NHS Norfolk and Suffolk Integrated Care Board recorded the strongest growth; NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board recorded the largest decline.

About this data & methodology
- Source
- Figures are drawn from NHS EPS nomination data loaded into PharmData, covering community pharmacies in England.
- Weekly data, shown by month
- The underlying data (
eps_noms) is recorded weekly, not monthly, despite the page's “monthly” framing. “Change vs last week” in the hero banner uses genuine week-on-week figures. Every other comparison on this page (monthly, 3/6/12-month, consistent trends) uses the latest available week within each calendar month as that month's representative figure. - Like-for-like comparisons
- A pharmacy only appears in a leaderboard, trend, or consistency check if it has data for every period being compared. A newly-opened pharmacy's first reading is never counted as a “gain”, and a pharmacy that stops reporting isn't counted as having “lost” its entire nomination count.
- Percentage-change threshold
- Percentage-based rankings only include pharmacies with at least 300 nominations in the earlier period (fewer than 1.5% of pharmacies fall below this). Without it, a very small pharmacy moving from single to double-digit nominations could show a huge but meaningless percentage change and dominate the table.
- “Unchanged”
- Defined as exactly zero change, rather than a tolerance band - nomination counts are whole numbers, so an exact match is a meaningful outcome in its own right rather than noise.
- ICB coverage
- ICB is each pharmacy's commissioning Integrated Care Board, kept in sync with the NHS ODS API. A small number of pharmacies (around 0.1%) have an area code that doesn't match a current ICB - these are included in national figures but excluded from ICB breakdowns.
- Data window
- This page shows the most recent 37 months. Full history back to 2016 exists in PharmData's underlying data but isn't rendered on this page for performance reasons.
- Limitations
- A nomination is where a patient asks to receive electronic prescriptions, not a measure of footfall, items dispensed, or revenue. Small ICBs and small pharmacies can show more volatile percentage changes simply because they have a smaller base.
